The Path Forward Towards Making $100 A Day From Reseller Hosting
Look in the Yellow Pages
I would say get out your phone book; but who does that anymore? You can simply get on YP.com or start looking for high ticket items. For example, HVAC services in Kansas City.
Start clicking around on some of the website links. Look for ones that are “outdated” or not mobile optimized. [I’d screenshot a few, but I don’t want to “call out” companies publicly. You can go do this yourself though in any city.]
Get on the phone or make an office visit
Once you have a handful of “potential” clients, give them a quick phone call or go visit their office. Explain to them you can offer them a “new” website for a special promo rate and provide high-speed cloud web hosting.
Make sure you tout our Reseller features (especially the free SSL) and let them know that faster hosting = better search engine listings = more customers. This is one main way you can justify charging more than the “large brands” such as HostGator/Blue Host. Let them know, they’ll have much better results going with you!
I suggest “high ticket items” such as HVAC as these companies tend to have more capital and are a lot more likely to buy a complete website from you, where you can charge an initial development fee then on-going maintenance/hosting. Other niches may include Landscaping, Lawn Care, Plumbing, Irrigation Systems, etc.
Use WordPress to develop
You don’t have to be educate in web design to develop a pretty website. Using WordPress you can pretty much get a nice template for around $50 – $100 and modify it enough to make it look super professional.Related:Groupbuy Ahrefs SEO Tools
If the client is super anal and wants a custom job, you can always outsource to a professional WordPress designer (I’d be more than happy to recommend one).
What you’ll often find, most companies just want to have a website that works seamlessly across multiple devices and contains a control panel where they can make their own updates. It’s a real pain in the butt having to call a developer to change an address/phone number on a website.
Don’t forget the extras
Most companies don’t want to pay multiple companies for their “website.” Throw in social media integration/management, search engine optimization, pay-per-click management, etc. as an upsell! Even if you aren’t an expert, you can always learn by reading (what I do) or outsource to other professionals.
Over the next several weeks I’m going to continue on this series of posts titled “the path forward towards $100 a day with Reseller Hosting” so be on the look-out for much more content!
